Dust storm and wildfires seen from space

Satellite images captured massive plumes of smoke from New Mexico wildfires at the exact moment that a dust storm swept across Colorado.

Three times, the footage is from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Colorado saw wind gusts of up to 97 km/h (60mph), as the dust storm reduced visibility to almost zero, while the fires consumed approximately 283 square miles.
