On a mission with China’s pet detectives

China’s pet ownership has increased sharply in recent decades. More than 68 million Chinese own a dog or cat.

Many of these animals can be considered to be another member of the family.

A new industry called “pet detective” has emerged to help owners find their lost pets and teach them how to care for them.

One pet detective was followed by the BBC’s Shanghai team as he searched for his missing cat.
