NATO warns Russia of ‘severe consequences’ in case of a nuclear strike

NATO stated Tuesday, 27 September that Russian nuclear weapons use was unacceptable and would result in severe consequences. After Vladimir Putin’s stark warning to Ukraine, this statement was made by NATO.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Sloltenberg said that any use nuclear weapons was unacceptable as it would change the course and nature of the conflict. Russia must understand that a nuclear conflict cannot be won and must be stopped.

We must be careful when we hear this kind of Russian nuclear rhetoric repeated and again. We are sending the message that Russia will be severely punished.
