Police clear out crack cocaine drug users from site in northern Paris

The Paris police arrived in Paris Wednesday (5 October) in order to clear a crack cocaine-user encampment. This had been a problem for years in Paris’ north, according to a statement from the French Interior Ministry.

With the demolition of Square Forceval, the 19th arrondissement, the government of President Emmanuel Macron seeks to address rising crime and insecurity in France.

Although police removed the site from the area in the past, drug users and pushers returned to the exact same spot later. French media have called this area Crackhill.
