Zelenskiy promises victory as Ukraine marks Defenders Day



Ukraine celebrated Defenders Day on Friday, October 14, with President Volodymyr Zilenskiy pledging victory over Russia and freedom for Ukraine.

In a video address delivered on hills outside Kyiv, Zelenskiy expressed his gratitude to Ukraine’s military forces. He assured that everything would be returned to Ukraine and that no soldier was taken .

Zelenskiy said, “It appears like the current enemy is his evil unites all the enemies of our statehood that we faced before,” Zelenskiy stated in the wooded hills around Vitachyv. This is where you can find an old military outpost that overlooks the Dnipro River.

“By defeating our enemy, we will respond to all enemies that encroached upon Ukraine, those who live, died, and continue to live in Ukraine.” This victory will be for all of our people. This victory will be for Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February. It has left behind thousands of victims, displaced millions and caused severe damage to the global economic system.

Recent weeks Ukrainian forces have madeadvancements. However, heavy air strikes were carried out by Russia that hit energy facilities and apartment blocks.

“The world knows that Ukrainians are humane in all circumstances.” Zelenskiy stated in a video address that the enemy could strike at “our cities, but not our dignity” on October 14.
