France’s Macron talks to new Italian PM Meloni

French President Emmanuel Macron met Giorgia Meloni (pictured), new prime minister of Italy on Sunday (23 Oct), French TV station BFM TV reported. It didn’t cite any sources.

Macron is currently on an official visit to Italy.

Giorgia Maloni and her cabinet were sworn in as Italy’s first female prime minster. This was the country’s most right-leaning government in its history since World War Two.
