The case of Nigerian atheist Mubarak Bala convicted of blasphemy

Mubarak Bala, president of the Humanist Association of Nigeria, was convicted of blasphemy charges on 5 April 2022. This sent shockwaves through the country and around the globe.

BBC’s Yemisi Adegoke examines Bala’s case and finds that there are new threats to freedom expression in one the most religious countries on the planet.
