Watch meteor light up night sky in Norway

On Saturday night, a meteor that was unusually bright lit up the sky above Norway. A large part of southern Norway could see the meteor, sometimes called a “boiler” because of its intense brightness.

Norwegians were alarmed by the fireball that resulted from the meteor’s burning up in the atmosphere and called the police.

According to the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, the meteor is part of an annual shower called northern Taurids.

A meteor is a space rock that enters Earth’s atmosphere. However, meteorites are made up of fragments that reach ground in the form of meteorites.
