EU says Serbia, Kosovo fail to reach deal, warns of escalation

On Monday (21 November), emergency talks in Brussels saw leaders from Serbian and Kosovo fail resolve their disagreement over car plates used by the Kosovo ethnic Serb minority.

Josep Borrell issued a statement after the talks. He stated that the parties couldn’t agree on a solution today “after many hours and discussions which began at eight in the morning.”

He stated that he believed there was a significant responsibility for the failure of today’s talks as well as any violence or escalation that may occur on the ground in the upcoming days.
