Naked volunteers pose for Bondi Beach artwork

For an artwork to raise awareness about skin cancer, around 2,500 volunteers were naked and posed on Bondi Beach in the early morning light.

Spencer Tunick, an American photographer, created the installation as a way to encourage Australians to have regular skin checks.

Public nudity was allowed on the beaches for the first time after legislation was amended.

According to the World Cancer Research Fund, Australia is the country most affected by skin cancer.
