New Zealand and Finland reiterated Wednesday (30 Nov) their support of Ukraine’s sovereignty, and asked for more international support.
Jacinda Ardern (New Zealand Prime Minister) stated that after their meeting in Auckland they had discussed their strong support for Ukraine.
Both countries are being pressured to preserve the rules-based international order upon which they depend for their security, and their prosperity, due to the conflict in Ukraine. It was important to protect them, according to leaders.
Marin and Ardern supported the UN Human Rights Council Resolution, which established a fact-finding group to Iran to investigate allegations of violations of human right, including those by women and girls.

Ardern was delighted to learn that Finland had committed to ratifying the free trade agreement between Finland and the European Union as soon as possible. This was after the agreement was signed earlier in the year.
The trade agreement will boost New Zealand’s exports to the EU by up to NZ$1.8 million ($1.12 trillion) each year.
Geo-political issues were also addressed by the prime ministers. These included the global economic downturn, labour shortages and rising living costs.
