Kazakhstan’s minister held talks in Brussels with transport commissioner

As part of the working visit, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kairbek Uskenbayev, met with Mrs. Adina Valean, the European Commissioner for Transport. The parties discussed issues of development of co-operation in the field of transport between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Union.

Minister Uskenbayev informed on the procedure for the transport of goods by transshipment (reloading) on the territory of Kazakhstan through diplomatic channels. 

In ten months of 2022, the volume of transit cargo through the territory of Kazakhstan amounted to 21.8 million tons, 12% more compared to the same period in 2021.

He also met with MEP Roberts Zille, vice president of the European Parliament, to discuss the development of transport communication between Central Asia and the EU.


Our country is working to expand the geography of flights, actively working to increase the number of air flights with major cities and international financial centers of the world.

“With the countries of the European Union in the civil aviation sphere the legal framework is established, and 13 of them are in intergovernmental agreements on air communication,” the minister said.

In accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the European Union, the aviation authorities of Kazakhstan are working on bilateral agreements on air communication with the EU countries under the so-called “horizontal agreement”.
