Russian troops, who were transferred from Russia to Belarus in October as part of a regional formation will be conducting tactical exercises for battalion squadrons, according to Interfax, which cites the Russian defense ministry.
Interfax reported that the ministry stated in a statement that the command would make the final assessment on combat readiness and combat capability. After the battalion tactical exercises have been completed, this will take place.
It was not immediately clear when and where the exercises would take place in Belarus.
In October, the Belarus defense ministry announced that 9000 Russian troops were being sent to Belarus to protect its borders.
