According to the city prosecutor, the official investigation into the shooting deaths of three Kurdish citizens last Monday (19/12/12) has started.
The 69-year-old man was taken into custody after two women and a man were killed at a Kurdish cultural center and a nearby Kurdish café in Paris’ bustling central 10-th district.
A community was about to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the unsolved murders in which three activists were killed shocked by the murders. Protests broke out, which led to clashes between police and protestors over the weekend.
French law says that a suspect is under formal investigation if there is sufficient or consistent evidence to support the suspicion of his/her involvement in a crime.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor, the accused will face charges for attempted murder, murder and unauthorised possession.
According to the company, it also believed that there was a racist motive behind the shootings.
Kurdish representatives demanded that the killing of victims be considered terrorist acts. They demanded that the victims be shot and protest silently at the scene.
