Colombia: Watch: Police held hostage in Colombia protest

After a violent protest in Colombia, on Thursday, dozens of police officers and employees at an oilfield company were taken hostage.

Colombia’s national police stated that violence broke out in the San Vicente del Caguan rural municipality. Protesters from indigenous and rural communities attacked an oil field owned by Emerald Energy.

Protesters blocked access from the oil field in order to demand that the company fix the roads in the area.
