On 21 March, the Embassy of Pakistan Brussels hosted a panel discussion on Pakistan’s famous miniture art at Chancery. In collaboration with Red Moon Art Incubator, the Embassy organized the discussion.
This event was part the Pakistan Panorama Series. It featured Pakistani artists and presented a selection of Pakistan’s most exciting and innovative contemporary art to the Belgian public. The series’ first exhibition was held in December 2022, with Ms. Mina Arhram, a young artist. The upcoming week-long exhibition of Pakistani Miniature Paintings by the visiting Pakistani couple in Brussels will take place from 22 March to 26 March.
Two prominent Pakistani Miniature artists, Ms. Noreen Rashid and Mr. Shiblee Muir, were the speakers. The discussion was moderated by Ms. Ellora Julie, founder and curator at the Red Moon Art incubator.
The panlists highlighted that Pakistan has produced many iconic and well-known artists such as Sadiquain Chughtai Abdur Rehman Chughtai Ismail Gul Jee Ustad Allah Bakhsh Anna Molka Ahmed Zubaida Agha, Ismail Gul Jee, Ismail Gul Jee, Ismail Gul Jee, Ismail Gul Jee, Ismail GUL Jee, Ismail Gul Jee, Ishman Chughta Ahmed, Zubaida Ahmed, Zubaida Agha They also discussed the development of miniature art in Belgium’s Flanders region and the inter-cultural influences that influenced the styles and techniques of various medieval art centers.
During his speech, Mr. Shiblee Muneer spoke about the history and evolution of miniature painting in Pakistan.
Ms. Noureen Rashed explained the current art scene in Pakistan in her remarks. She also explained to the audience the processes involved in the creation of special colors and handmade art paper, called wasli.
Ms. Elora Julie, the moderator, expressed her gratitude to the Embassy of Pakistan. She stressed that the event would serve as a bridge between peoples of both countries.
Art enthusiasts, representatives of civil society, diplomat corps members and media representatives attended the event.
Participants were very appreciative of traditional Pakistani cuisine that was served at the end of the event.
