Eurovision: Lime green outfit foxes BBC reporter in Eurovision mix-up

A BBC reporter mistakenly identified a man wearing a lime-green silky top as the Eurovision song contestant from Finland at Monday’s semi-final.

Katie Walderman, speaking to visitors at Liverpool, referred to “the main man”, meaning Kaarija the Finnish entry. But all was not as it appeared.

BBC North West Tonight’s spokesperson stated: “This was Eurovision fever.” We hope that the real Kaarija joins us on North West Tonight to say sorry and wish the Grand Final well.
