Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Polish government has increased its military spending. The government pledged to spend 4% GDP and double the size the army by 2023.
“We are in the middle of detailed negotiations. I hope that they will be successful in a very short time. We strengthen not only the eastern flank of NATO, but also Poland’s resilience,” Blaszczak tweeted after a meeting between defence ministers of northern Europe.
He didn’t provide any further details about the type or number of aircraft that was discussed.
